Prep for tiling with Granite floor tiles.

Hi,

I don't do much tiling with Natural Stone so was just looking for some advice regarding the best preparation for tiling a floor with Granite tiles.

The floor is chipboard in a new build (3sqm approx). There doesn't seem to be much deflection. Would it be acceptable to overboard with 12mm plywood only or with a ditra-mat as well? Alternatively would 18mm ply or tile-backer board be better? Or would you recommend some additional form of preparation?

Thanks in advance for your help !

Believe it is fixed to the joists. However it seems fairly solid.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

To be honest i'm not too sure. I think it would only be 18mm chipboard.

I was thinking of going down the lines of using 9mm plywood with 6mm tilebacker board on top. Alternatively overboarding with 18mm plywood.

Your expertise would be welcomed Dave.

Thanks,
