Hi, this is my first post here, hopefully of many.
I have been doing most of my own DIY on my house since moving in 18 months ago.
I try to do as much research as possible, but every now and then I hit a job that I just cannot figure out.
I am planning to tile my kitchen and utility room floor with either ceramic of vinyl tiles.
The problem I have is that half my floor is Floorboards over wooden joists, and half is concrete.
The floorboards currently sit about 10-15mm lower than my carpeted dining room, and the concrete sits about 10-15mm lower than the floorboards.
My first plan was to self level the concrete area to be the same level as the floorboards.
Then to No More Ply over the floorboards AND the SLC throughout and lay tiles over this, as I think it would give a bit more rigidity to the wooden part of the floor. I did not want to SLC over the floorboards, as if there is a bit of flex it could crack.
Has anyone got any advice for me please, as I am running out of time and ideas ?
