prices please

Doing a job for a builder tomorrow and am undecided if he is now starting to take liberties so I would be interested to know how much you would charge to do this job given he will put work my way as he has done in the past .

It is in his own bathroom.

He wants it fully tiled walls. 14 Sq m in a 300 x 200 ceramic tile.
Brick effect with a mosaic border. The border has a separate chrome trim to be cut and inserted either side with a chrome trim around the window. All materials and adi has been provided.

Although I feel it is over the top it is only in order to get it valued to go on the market so I cannot decide what a fair price would be. I expect to take 2 days.

At least £120 per day for cash - I personally would charge more.
From my personal experience -these guys expect the earth - give very little back in return - and will drop you like a stone when they please. Don't expect any loyalty. Make sure you earn a wage.

Hmmmm 2 days. I suppose you're covering a fair bit with those bigish tiles (for walls). But those metal trims are a nightmare if you get them wrong. And with the mosaic border and what not too. I'd say 3 days (under promise over acheive!) and if it takes you 2 or 2 and a bit you have a day off. And I'd then perhaps quote £390 given the fact that you may have that extra day off and be clear he's not getting anything knocked off if you do finish early as you've not really priced well enough for 3 full days.

I now realise that it is going to go into the 3rd day, a combination of not being able to get on the job until 9.30, being stopped by the builder or his wife for a chat, the kids home from school at 3 under your feet and asking inquisitive questions, lack of space and all that trim, mosaic border and brick.

The main point of the post was that this builder puts work my way so I think the figures so far quoted are on the steep side but I don't want someone taking liberties either.

300 - 350 plus materials is what I would charge him. Do a good job and he will still put work your way!! After alll, he wouldnt want to recommend a crap tiler would he and the price is fair. You have to make a living dont forget irrelevant of whether he puts work your way or not!!

Thanks tile stile have already had several jobs through him so he knows my standard of work so recommendation is not a problem just don't want to upset the guy with a view to future work. I think therfore 300 is fair as I am going to run into a 3rd day and he has provided all the materials and brews.
