Pricing help required

I have picked up a contract that requires tiling on new builds and refurbishment properties starting next month, should the refurb price be higher?

They have also come back to me requesting a supply cost, as they are the main contractor/trade what % mark do i add, i can do retail just not sure about trade?

Well with the refurb there is always the possibility of having more work to do on the walls first, unless they are being freshly plastered before you tile, so if they are freshly plastered then it isn't really any different to tiling new builds.

I don't really get what you mean about your second point.

The second point, if i buy tiles in at £11.00 per sq m how much mark up do i add?
The client is the main contractor for the project and we shall be the subcontractor supplying them with the tiles, adhesives and grouts.

If you are getting a decent sqm rate for laying the tiles and grouting then I'd only stick on a few quid or so to take into account of you having to get them etc.

There again, I have no experiance working like this as a sub contractor, and someone who has done this before will post later this evening I would say.

I'd be interested to know the score on this as well. As my other thread said, the chance of putting a price in for a contract and not got experience in this. Chances are thiers not alot of difference in pricing up but I'm sure dealing with them is slightly different and would be interested in hearing of any tips.

Be aware that if you are working as a sub-contractor, you should be registered with HMRC as such and that unless you have an exemption certificate, you will have tax deductions made on all you labour and travel costs by the contractor.
