a bit advice needed please peeps,, this was my 1st job so i quoted it ultra cheaply to see how i got on,, the job is as follows.. 9 square metre floor of badly layed tiles to be lifted and the ply underneath to be scraped back,, 10 sq metres of wall tiles to be ripped off as well....... 10 sq metres of wall tiles to be re laid finished with a trim halfway up wall with cuts round sink etc,,also 9 sq metres of porcelain floor tiles to be re laid and the bath to be boxed in with wall tiles also. the job has turned out really well for me,almost flawless so i feel more confident to charge much more in future can a few tilers please give me an idea of what they would have charged for this job? cheers:joker:

thanks guys 4 your advice, i actually charged 400 pounds and the customer supplied all the materials,i thought this was cheap as it will work out at 50 hours work i spent on this from ripping it out till i grout it on thursday, but i gained a lot of confidence from this job so thats good,,i posted a pic of it nearly finished in bathroom gallerys if anyones interested cheers again

thanks dave..only bit i wasnt too pleased was the floor needed self levelled but customer didnt want it so could only do my best, but hey its all a learning curve.

The customer did'nt want it but they would first on the phone if it did;nt work out and were'nt to their liking

yep i bet but on the whole the job turned good and also earned me 3 more jobs,,a kitchen splashback,a kitchen floor in slate and also a shower room so im more than happy.

Good on ya mate! Gaining experience and confidence is important but don`t sell yourself too short!

Turkish:thumbsup:

cheers turkish,im going to raise the price next time it was just my 1st job so was harder to judge time etc as never done it before.

Yep, the first few jobs always take longer than you think, it`s a recurring theme on here with first jobs. At the end of the day it`s the customers satisfaction that matters. You`ve obviously done well though and earnt yourself repeat work! Congratulations! :hurray:

Turkish:thumbsup:
