Primer on slc?

Hi,

I've got ufh already on the floor covered with slc.
Should I put primer on it before tiling or just adhesive?
Second question, which trowel you recommend for 600x600 porcelain tiles?

No need to prime but, make sure you have a thorough hoover to get rid of any dust prior to tiling. If your floor is nice and flat, a 10mm trowel will be fine. If there are a few discrepancies, a 12mm may be better.

If you laid the slc a few days ago then I would'nt bother but if you feel it's dusty then yes.....trowel for the tile would be 10mm and back skim the tiles, if you feel your not getting the coverage use a 12mm.

If you're inexperienced laying large format tiles, then priming could help. Slows up the adhesive a little giving more time for adjusting. Also, a fast set can occasionally dry out too quick on slc rather than cure forming a weaker bond.

I realised that after a few first tiles and I primed rest of floor.
