priming ply

Hes right about grouting same day, as long as the tiles dont move. I always grout same day, dont be worrying that the adhesive wont dry , it will, however i always use cement based adhesives. Pva wil revert to its original state if it comes into contact with water so better to use polymer based primers.

hi
was working with a tiler yesterday(old school)
couple of things i need to question

1, he told me that you must prime plywood even exterior grade with the dreaded PVA before tiling i was told not to use pva in any tiling install as it breaks down with the moisture in the adhesive and i was told you dont have to prime plywood.

is this true?

2, He tiled and grouted in the same day the adh' was readymixed weber and only been on walls a couple of hours i was told leave it over night "he said you only leave it cos the tiles can move but thats the good thing about weber it holds the tiles well enough to grout in the same day"

is this true?
were about in leeds are you based matty
