priming wall prior to tilling

can any one advise on what primer to use before tilling a wall prior to using tubbed adhesive .the wall is a combi of old plaster and sand and cement walls.the area for the shower has been done out in a waterproof tanking .on this area i was going to use a flexible powdered cement adhesive the rest of the walls i was going to use a good quality tubbed gear .

I'd prime with sbr and use powdered addy on it all

As above, I never use tubbed addy anymore

any preference to the adhesive i wouldnt say i am that quick i was looking at the mapei flexable stuff.my mate has a trade card can get 40% discount.the normal price on this gear is robbery cheers alan

You'd be better using a slow set addy if you're not that quick. Shouldn't waste any then.

Keraflex works for me I mix an old adhesive tub full at a time this means I don't waste too much if I fiddle about too much. It says on the bag can be used upto 8 hrs but I have never got that far.

Do you mean kerraflex maxi? Very good stuff if you need a thick bed! I didn't know,you could get 8 hrs out it though!

Keraflex and Keraflex Maxi say on the bag that the paste remains workable for 8hrs. This does depend on the ambient temperature though. It just gives you time if you are not as fast as some.
