Agree with sir ramic.
I also use a roller, size will depend on the area I am doing.
Full sized roller on large areas. 4" roller on small spots.
Priming is a good idea.
For most interior work, Mapei primer L will suit.
You can dilute it down and for concrete this is a good idea. Read the product literature.
On plywood I usually just apply it straight so as not to excessively moisten the wood, same with unprimed gypsum and I put several coats on plaster.
thing is you need to prevent spatters as it sticks tenaciously and leaves little green spots which prove difficult to remove if you wait till it is dry, so wipe off any spatter while it is wet with a damp sponge.
