problems cutting porcelain

hiya lads,need to pick your brains again.iv'e been having problems cutting porcelain tiles with my rubi ts60plus.just done a kitchen splashback with 100 x100mm but when i've snapped them the cut follows the score line but seems to "belly out " in the middle of the tile below the score line,so in effect the tile is wider in the middle ofthe back of the tile than on the face. also when cutting the larger format floor tiles(porcelain) it just won't snap them at all(its like theres not enough breaking strength any more).I've looked at the nib on the breaker and it seems to have flattened off slightly with wear(cutters about 4 years old) and i'm wondering if this could be the cause of the problem.cheers boys

That was the reason I gave in and bought a TX700 because my ts60 was struggling, Yours has more cutting power it just seemed the way it cut porcelain was very limited

My tr 600 struggles with porcelain so I generally take my tx700 instead.

Also, marcrist grinding discs are worth there weight in gold

Welll tbh my TR600 is still ace after 8 years of service but it wont do everything it was designed for anymore.
I just bought a Ti700 based on a forum review

As already said you would be best to use a TX cutter for porcelain or another with a movable breaker.

I gave up trying to snap porcelain and only use the wet saw with a nice porcelain blade.

Although I'm not familar with the tile cutter you use, you could try a bigger cutting wheel, also try scoring the tile twice, you can also flip it over and score the back, this may help with the over cutting you describe. Fine tune your breaker bar and experiment with different settings. You really need to learn the "feel" when porcelain is about to snap,it does take some practice.

Tiles are becoming more and more difficult to cut, you must have good wet cut facility.Porcelain, Marble, Granite, they all have a specific type of blade and cutting requirement...experience is a good tool.

you have to have the tx700 if you want to get involved with the good stuff.........IMO
