They are for grinders Ash. This post was about profiling bits in general. Most common way is with a handheld variable speed grinder.

ohhh I thought you could only do this sort of thing on a wet cutter that's sweet il have to get one and have a practise watched some vids on it and edges look lovely

Most of these tools can be used wet or dry.

As a general rule of thumb, using wet will increase the lifespan of the tool by around 30% to 40%.

Most of these pieces of equipment are designed to be used on the 1500rpm to 4500rpm range. They get a little too difficult to control over that speed.

Just for the info a standard Makita 115mm angle grinder has a no load rpm of 10,000.....
Bosch 7115 11,000 rpm
