Quarry tile outside steps pics

Many thanks! If my finished job is 50% as good as pic 1 I will be delighted.
Do the risers rest on the tread at the bottom or vice-versa ?
You don't happen to have a pic of the sides showing the setting out so that I can avoid the mess in my 3 pictures under "retiling 3 outdoor steps"
