Quarry tiles

Hi,

I am looking to buy some good quality quarry tiles and ones that are least likely to stain as I would like to get away without sealing them. I am laying them in a conservatory and the colours I want are equivalent to Ruabon colours - Ruabon Red and Hafod Black.

Could anyone suggest a possible source?

the last time i used quarry tiles they were heather brown , just google them ok

I have bought quarry tiles from wallsandfloors.co.uk on several occasions. They offer them at a good price and deliver promptly...cariage can be a bit painfull on smaller quantities.

have a look at woolliscroft range of floor tiles, they are a quarry type tile in various colours, and do a reversible range smooth one side, non slip on the other

Why dont you want to seal them?

Quarry tiles are quite different from Terracotta, they generally dont require sealing as they are not very pourus.
Lithofin do offer an impregnating sealer for quarry tiles.

Just thought that it would be worth sealing if they need to be hard to stain??
Prob the best way to protect them.

A lot of quarry tiles produced in the UK did not need sealing down to vitrification process during firing.. but most now are Spanish imports.. so check to see what porosity is like.
