Hi everyone, This is my first post on here and im straight in with asking for some advice cheeky i know! I have set my heart on some quartz tiles white ones for the walls and black for the floor. Starting with the floor i have put down a 18mm stuctual ply on top of my joists and am unsure of what adhesive to use ? i had planned for electric underfloor heating to but reading on here that does not seem possible with these resin tiles is that the case? As for the walls I have gtec aquaboard and a renderd then skim wall to stick them to what adhesive would you say for that ? also im buying them from tile HQ is that a good quailty tile? Sorry for the amount of questions just cant afford to get it wrong.

Never heard of problems with conglomerate over ufh - have fixed it on a few jobs and never had any negative comeback. Always use super flexible adhesives though.

As a belt and braces approach I always tend to use a decoupling mat such as Ditra if I'm using ufh on ply fixed to joists, and always make sure there are cross joists in as well.

I think the BS guidelines are 20kg per square metre on skim walls so work out how much your tiles and adhesives will weigh - if they're 9mm this they'll definitely be more. if you drill and plug some aquapanel on top then happy days.

Yes.. some makes warp when used with UFH.. so best to check their suitability and water mixed adhesives can warp them as well..

So if i use a decuping mat do you think i could use ufh with them, would be good if i could because i have run in the wires for it, also where do you get the decuping mat from never heard aboit them before ! and as regard the adhesive same for ply floor and aquaboard then? i paid £40 for an 8x4 sheet of la farge aquaboard thought it was pricey or is that the norm.

if they're gonna warp, the de-coupler won't stop this as it's moisture and heat that causes it (iirc)
