My recomendation would be to try some power stripper (add just a small amount of water) to try and strip the residue and then clean with grimex and rinse with water.

For peice of mind I would then reseal with MPG sealer.

If using the above method I would try in a small area first.

Waxwash would never be strong enough to remove epoxy grout residue in my opinion.

Another possability is that the dull finnish on the tile you mention is a sticky residue left over from a protective film. Where your tiles packaged with a stick plastic sheet on each tile? If so then there may be some residue which caused the epoxy to stick to it. (if this was the case Grimex alone may work)
