Very good post. I've been stung by not stating the type of tile the client was going to use, or they have say, for instance ceramic, and when I have arrived to do the job they have bought marble.

I just split up labour and materials. I also make it clear what is being done and who supplies what.

I make a small margin on materials and yes I do buy at trade prices. I use 2 or 3 different suppliers -not national chains - depending on what I am buying.

How cheap do you get your stuff, i went to topps today for first time with trade card, got 15ltr tub at trade price of £11.50 should cover upto 12sm, never does through..

Is that cheaper, is there cheaper avaliable

CTd do sontex at £4.99 a tub....ok for kitchens and bath area's .. no good for showers..
