Hi Guys

This summer I'm considering doing some damp work myself, I don't believe it to be that difficult - i.e. stripping plaster and drillling and injecting bricks, then fixing the plastic membrane to the wall. The replastering, however, is tricky as I've never done it before. Then again, I'd never attempted tiling before.

Any advice :)

Hi Cappsie, remove plaster to a height of 1m, drill bricks, 2 holes per brick (not into the mortar) inject chemicals then render with sand and cement, do not use backing plaster, then skim the s&c..use a salt retardent in the render mix
hope this helps..Mark.

What is a salt retardent, If you use soft sand the chances are you may get problem's, use a good rendering sand with integral waterproofer or renderlite from soverign made for the purpose for damp injection.
