Re grouting jobs

Hi all 1st post on here
just wondered what you guys for re grouting jobs,normally I would not usually touch them,can't be bothered and too much hassle unless its a small area.i had a dremmel but it went up in smoke after its 1st job,got it replaced then the 2nd one done the same.
so what's your tool off choice?

Fein for me but I do avoid regrouting if I can.

Last one i done i used an angle grinder with markist blade and fein. 6 x 6 grey ceramics ,small shower area, one day work, charged heavily for it in the hope to put the guy off but he accepted. Job looked great when done although there was the odd slippage and chipped tile

Pretty much the same,is the fein decent?
the dremmel doesn't have the motor for regrouting if you ask me.

Exakt Dc270 for me (with dust extraction.....i.e. hooked up to hoover). However, why not deep clean the grout and re-colour?

Me too. I have done some in the past using my Fein but sometimes its better value for the customer if you just re-tile.

had a customer wanted her chicken tiles (johnsons texture vein) regrouted......you have to ask the question.....why...!!!!

just replace them..lol

I never do regrouting...even in my own house. Its much easire to rip the tiles off with your teeth and retile with your hands tied together. Knew one guy who did a regrout job and got so mush hassle due to the odd chipped tile. Customer wanted him to replace the whole area at his expense...not worth the hassle IMO.

I did a re grouting job last week and used my new makita multi tool with the grouting blade. Worked great. Check out the pics below of what the guy did as he didn't like the mouldy grout. ****ed myself when I seen it. Tried to price myself out but he accepted the quote.

He put white Silicon over all the grout lines. Lol

Brilliant! As DIY bodge jobs go that's right up there with some of the best!!

i have done a few re grouts but same as others i price them high
