After some advice re shower cubicle in the photo. Silicone seal the bottom ... What about the vertical bit? Should I remove grout and silicone? Or silicone over the existing grout? Thanks!

Remove grout and silicone in the corner...and get a grout cleaner while your at it to give the shower sparkle.

A lot of the grout appears to be cracking. I have removed quite a bit for the left wall, haven't started on th me right wall yet. If I plan on regrouting it , how much grout do I need to remove first? Thanks again!

Is the substrate/backing behind the tiles plasterboard....

The reason for all of this is because of a slight damp patch appearing in the toilet directly beneath the shower!

I would scrape the silicone out from where the shower tray meets the tiles and as said the corner and re-silicone, this maybe only a temporary measure, where your grout is cracking on the tiles you need to remove to the depth of the tile.

There is usually a reason that the grout is cracking, moisture getting into the substrate or if a tubbed adhesive was used causing it to expand or soften up and allowing the tiles some movement.

A re-tile will be probably needed in the near future but as always that would be your choice.

I would go for one of the Mapei Ultra colour not in white though, Tilemaster grout and many others that available for regrouting.

Neither have I concerning the shooting, one ground wants .40p a clay on a sunday....jeeeeeve

Manky? Are you referring to the bits where I have removed the grout??

The rest could could do with a good scrub/clean but I wouldn't call it manky.

Money & time don't warrant a full rip out.

Is it a shotgun certificate your getting?

get on the real deal lads ...as mentioned previous, scrape out existing grout, re-grout using a "proper" grout, silicon all corners including vertical and and shower tray
