When I was young, I never could get past the nickname for brussel sprouts AKA "Mountain Oysters". BLECH!:yikes:

They're ok, used to hate them, then learned that if you cut a cross in the base they cook faster on the inside, too, and taste sweeter, somehow that made it ok! Red, well, are they crossed with beetroot or what? All this phaffing with food...

I was talking with a customer a few months ago about brussel sprouts, and she told me there is a way to cook them so they taste sweet and not bitter at all. I'd be willing to try them again if they were prepared properly, but I can still remember all those years as a kid with my mother forcing my sister and me to eat the darn things.:incazzato:

Telling you, Rob, just cut a deep cross into the centre from the stalk end inwards, it really works! And they cook faster that way, too 🙂

Hi MG, I might try it! Thanks for the tip.

You mentioned beets in the post before this. I love beets! YUM!

I hang on your every work, G....

....should have read "on your every word" DOH!

G, speaking of living healthy, my buddy who is stationed in Berlin just sent pictures of him and his wife, drinking what looks like two-liter mugs of beer, at an Octoberfest party.:8::8:

Prost!
