Discuss Removing Linoleum Adhesive with White Spirit in the UK Tiling Forum area at TilersForums.com.

Preparing ground floor cloak room floor for tiling and scraping off the old rubbery linoleum adhesive with just a putty knife was slow going. On a small test area, a little white spirit dissolves the adhesive quite nicely and scrapes off in a jiffy.

Question: will the leftover white spirit residue impact how well tile adhesive adheres to floor? The white spirit does appear to soak into the concrete floor a bit, but thought I could scrub up the floor with soap & water to get some off.

thanks
