Removing tiles and......

What do you guys recomend doing if when removing the old tiles and the plasterwork comes away reveling the brick work??

I have done 2 bathrooms where this has happened and just boarded it out with plasterboard using the dot dab technique. All went well, I was just wondering what you would have done?

Hi steve.

It really depends on the options available.

Over boarding is the easiest way but sometimes it can't be done because of door ways etc.

So some times i have to patch in as well... I tend to use wickes fast setting one coat plaster(50mm in one go)..if the patching is too deep for adhesive to work.

Why, it's used on tons of jobs with no problems.

The fixings are used for thermal insulation boards

Dot and dad all day long, as above i never felt the need to add mechanical fixing to to dot and dab. Mind you i do use a lot of addy when i do it i hate the thought of voids behind it! Each to their own i guess

My thoughts exactley, I also use lots of addy when doing it.

Just wanted to be sure I was right in doing this.
