Replace tile over impey membrane

I broke a tile over my wet room tray when replacing the shower head. It cracked and I’ve been able to remove the old tile and cut a replacement.

Can I just install the replacement with some flexible adhesive over the membrane? A small amount of the felt-type membrane is stuck to the back of the old tile, but the rest of the membrane seems to still be stuck down the tray below.
