Replacing Wet Room Tiles?

We had a wet room fitted by a large company. We have issues with a few large steps where the gradient isn’t smooth so you can stump your toe.
They sent a wet room fitter round to report, but the first 2 were general bathroom fitters who didn’t know about wet rooms. One even attempted to grind down the tiles causing damaged to the top of some of the mosaic tiles.
Finally when the 3rd fitter came who was a wet room fitter they also pointed out two deep foot indentations where the fitter stood to fit the shower whist the tiles where still wet.

He told us he would have to remove all the mosaic tiles in the shower area, the bottom row of wall tiles and first row of floor tiles. This is because the backer boards, waterproof tape etc would be damaged from removing the mosaic tiles so won’t be waterproof anymore.

Now though the report has finally been sent doesn’t reflect anything he told us.

They now want to remove individual square pieces of mosaic tiles off the rubber backing. Dig out the affected mosaic tiles and replace them one by one. They are saying this will not cause damage to the backing boards or cause any water damage.

This doesn’t sound right to us from what they told us originally and feel the wet room will end up in a worse state with more damage that it already has.

If anyone could advise if they removed the individual mosaic tiles would they not damage anything trying to get them out as they say they won’t even damage the rubber backing under the tiles on the floor or the backer boards. How should they be repairing the wet room floor?

Thanks

If can be rectified by popping out individual mosaics and resetting saves a lot of mess , i could do it , damage depends on how well stuck on they are

Hi, wouldn’t this damage the tiles as they are all grouted in and originally played on the mosaic rubber backing. Directly onto to backing board. How can you scrap out individual square mosaic tiles, enough to get rid of the sharp step edges and the dip areas? It’s not just the odd one or two tiles. How can we tell if the water tight seal has been damaged if not done so already.
Thank you
