Respatex

Hi, just pulled out a bathroom in a hotel and the owner want me to tile on top of respatex I emailed respatex and they said no, can some one please advises as to what is best to do ie ply,aquapanel, plasterboard etc on top of pespatex or remove back to stud work?

If it's a hotel i'd wouldn't us platesrboard, i'd go for Marmox.
I'd get it stripped back to the stud, trouble is don't know what you're screwing into, very easy to hit a pipe or cable.
