Hi,

I read with interest another post regarding the cleaning of an old Edwardian floor. I had a similar problem in my kitchen. It is made from red quarry tiles, beautifully laid with hardly any grout, they are so close.

One: I have removed as best I can, glue and levelling compound, but there are some REALLY deep set stains that just look like filthy flooring and I don't know what else I can do. (I have used everything that I can get hold of from the usual outlets).

Two. As the room was originally two, and there is also an area missing where there were once steps and also another where there must have been an aga or similar; are they replaceable with a 'modern' or other tile?

I have done what I can. Are there professionals who could do the job? I live in Cheshire on the Eastern side. What should I expect to pay?

Thank you.
