I've had a few mates, thankfully all survived, that have been in bike accidents that have involved elderly car drivers, not jumping to the conclusion that elderly driver was at fault here Stef but in all cases that my mates have been caught up in it involved drivers just pulling out at junctions without checking properly. Sorry to hear that this incident with your mate proved fatal Stef:thumbsdown:

Lets hope it's not another case of them 5 words that every biker hates "sorry mate didn't see you" something has to be done about car drivers in general to educate them of their surroundings, sorry stef this makes my blood boil I have lost 3 mates the same way. I won't rant anymore.

I totally agree, I'm not a biker, but have friends who are and I have always tried to be considerate to all of the road users out there - motorcyclists, pedal cyclists, pedestrians, even people on mobility scooters. it's disgraceful that other vehicle drivers are less accommodating. I even had another car driver this morning, wedged to my back bumper all the way through a 30mph village, I was doing 30 or just under because you know that it's after 8am so kids are around making their way to school and this guy wedged to my back end is gesticulating at me because I keep slowing down to pass parked cars, go round blind bends etc. He obviously didn't get it that the closer he got the slower I went, and he really didn't see the huge baby on board sticker on my back window, and then proceeded to overtake me still in the 30 mph village because he didn't want to wait any longer. I followed him all the way along a 60 road at 40 because he was stuck behind a lorry

such a sad day when any biker is lost. my condolences Stef.
