Rough quote price?

Just been asked for a quote for 61sqm of travertine which is a hall, conservatory, bathroom and wc what would you quote its in Edinburgh.

That's a fair price for most areas of Edinburgh and I do a lot of work there........

not when all cuts will either be wet or angle grinder, and that is most of the time will be.

it's getting up there shogun, but don't forget that trav (imo) should only be sealed after ​ grouting, so that the pits get filled with grout that will adhere and act as a filler.

This would be based on sub floor being ready to tile onto.

Hi Paul, I would go with Doug on this, 3K or just over , lowest price £2850.00, but £3000.00 more like a realistic price. Depends how much you need the work

I'm working in Chiswick (west London). 6 days to lay 32sqm of travertine in Opus Ramano pattern (4 tile). Got to lay 32sqm of PCI Pecilastic matting too. 6 days labour £900. Kithen is empty (so no cutting around cabinets etc). I started the job yesterday, but had to leave soon after getting there because the ply was a bit bouncy at the edges and one of the builder clowns had put down a crumbly cement mix to bridge a gap between the ply floor and the concrete floor. I got the builder to rectify the problems with braces, screws and slc.

good decision, deffo not a job worth taking any chances on mate!

Need to know mor about the surface in question, Expansion joints also if the floor goes over 4m in any direction.

Anybody with any sense knows what a Pro is in any area.

Nobody starts of as a Pro, did Homers when I was an apprentice but didnt charge full wack as I was learning.

I'm sorry....I didn't realise I had a chip on my shoulder regarding you and you've lost me there....??

The question was ment as a query, as you made a statement to shogun about charging pro prices. I was just looking for clarification as to when you become a pro and what makes a pro, so shogun knows when he should or should not be charging pro prices.....

The question "what makes you a pro tiler" wasn't questioning your credentials, but an open one, as to what makes you a pro tiler...!

Would you let a novice do work for you & pay them full price?

Should people be pricing for jobs they dont know how to do & what about the poor unsuspecting customer whos payed out thousands for stone paying full wack for somebody who is not entirely sure how to go about the job.
