Roy Hodgson Approached For England Job

The England manager's position has been vacant since Fabio Capello's abrupt departure in February.
Hodgson has already managed two national sides: Switzerland and Finland.
He took Switzerland to the last 16 of the 1994 World Cup and qualification for Euro 1996 - the country had not qualified for a major tournament since the 1960s.
He also gained Finland their highest ever Fifa ranking of 33rd place when he managed the team from 2006 to 2007.
FA chairman David Bernstein said Hodgson "is the only manager we have approached and ... further conversations will now take place with Roy and my Club England colleagues."

A good choice I reckon. Harry is the nations number 1 choice but, he won't want to leave Spurs after getting them to where they are now and more than likely having some euro football next season.

Good choice imo, no "personal baggage" to distract him from the job, also the players might just ​be able to understand him.

Maybe one day England fans will realise they ain't the best team in the world and that any stage after the group stage is doing really well! I mean why cry, sack people and blame someone because you only get to the quarter final... The quarter final is a HUGE accomplishment. It's like when everybody used to slag off Tim Henman and say he was useless because he could never get past the semi final... The man consistently reached the semi final!!! That is an amazing feat of sportsman skill.
