Just got a big clinker today as a stopgap til I get the tx700, and I have to say I am very impressed with it for the price. Bit of a pig to line up the cut marks but nice clean cuts, and a solid feel to it

Sigmas,for me are better cutters regardless of the lining up problem,rubis have over the past few years become increasingly fragile.

What i will say is if you are cutting porcelain on a rubi you do need the gold plated 18mm wheel,i have no problems at all cutting porcelain using them, unless it is especially tough and the breaking point that pops up tends to wear down and costs a few quid to replace the whole breaker.

I have ts 40 and ts 60 for ceramic and tr 60 for porc

Ts have wrong cutting action for porc (IMO)

get a sigma and it will cut porcelain and ceramic and quarrys and no need to change wheels and its more robust.

I've been up and down the sponsor list and don't see Sigma anywhere!
Been using Rubi for more years than I remember and all basic models. Even hired a 1200 for £5/day for a recent job. Never had a tile I couldn't cut and when it gave up - just sent it to the tiler in the sky!

I have to say having been the owner of a MONTOLIT for 2 days now and just used it to cut a whole batch of mosaics its an awesoe machine. Even without the mosaic mat! I was desperate for the Sigma but it came downto price in the end.

Sigmas are great machines no doubt but the reason i went for the monty 75p was i fancied a push cutter , cutting large formats in tight areas i find it better for the measuring bar to be at the top of the machine, i would get another sigma but it would be a push...

Never really used a montolit for any amount of time so cant really comment on them,was a rubi man for 15 years and when i first started using a sigma i found them really hard to use but after a while i got used to them.

As i said earlier rubi's seem to be very brittle (to me)regardless of the model.

We have a tx 700,it works fine most of the time. Sometimes i push down the opposite end the breaker.Thumb one side of the score mark fingers other side. Not tryed the sigma sounds good. found the ts only works on ceramic
