I'd say tiler. I had this discussion with someone recently. Some people get mastic guys in but I like to see the job in its finished state.

Depends if its a private job or on site.
I tend to Silicon myself as a bad Silicon job can waste the overall look of a good tiling job.

either way if I got a mastic guy in to Silicon up id be seing the finished result as I wouldn't want them messing about with my reputation so would keep a good eye on them lol

scilicolne... what's that.. a German sausage ?
personally, the more trades you offer ( whithin reason ) the better service you offer to a potential client, which means on quote stage, you may be dearer, but they are using one tradesman..and you increase your chances of getting a new client, you are selling yourself better to offer the add ons,
in years gone past.. yes it was the tilers job.
you can get Silicon kits with the fluid and the shaper tool, with these items, its easy.. practice make perfect... I used to use my index finger as standard........... but there's better things to do with that, so I bought a schlomberg kit for £30.00, think about it ;-) if you want long term business... think long term

I always left it to the bathroom fitters until i took the advice from this site and got myself a fugi tool. Got fed up with them making a good job look bad with 15mm joints finished with their fingers or badly with a stick. Now the silicon colour matched to the grout and perfectly finished adds class to the job.

thanks for the tip, didn't realise the Weather could affect it ;-)

I like to do all the siliconing myself, then I'm 100% with the finished look. Nothing worse than a cracking tiling job and some numpty finishes all the joints, reveals bath shower tray and it looks awful.

I've seen people finish off dark grey tiles with white silicon joints in corners and where wall and floor meet. :mad2:

I generally do my own, but if you're doing site work, it's usually down to the mastic man. Ash lol! I doubt you'd need to double check a mastic man's work mate. They're usually spot on! Way better than I can do.. 😉

I prefer to do my own, sometimes I'll leave second fit potware up to the plumber though.

As a bathroom installer I Silicon myself.
If i was just tiling then it would depend on the job.
eg. tiling a shower cubicle I would Silicon the tray & wall, but wouldn't expect to be called back after the plumber had installed the screen.
That should be down to them.

Depends who's plumbing after me. Prefer to let the plumber sealfix/ct1 to a tray, failing that will do it myself with low modulus.
