Ok heres a few questions:
Did you try the Plastic Surgeon?
Where abouts in essex are you?
Do you know where the work tops are from and have you got a price on the replacements?

Hi Scottley,
yes, tried plastic surgeon, but they said they wouldn't be able to get the 'shine' back on the gloss finish.
The Job is in Colchester.
Haven't asked yet where the tops are from, but I'm pretty sure they are from B&Q (it looks like their kitchen range)
..gotta spend the morning now getting quotes!..doh:mad2:

To give you an idea for cost, i charge £60 per join, £25 per cut out and £15 per end trim. But to be honest thats on a refit so you'll end up with a day rate im sure

Have you tried T-cut or any other slightly abrasive car polish to see if it will buff out?

Thanks for the info scottley,
Yeah I tried t cut yesterday, with no luck....just a super sensitive finish to the work top (I reckon it will be scratched to bits in weeks) the scratches aren't 'gouges' just scuffs, but as I said I had no luck removing them. I spoke to the insurance co. this morning and they said they'll be phoning the owner to get them to get quotes..which I spose make sense as I could be fiddling it..either way i'm glad not to have the hassle of sorting that out as well!

..all this mucking around for a job that was earning nothing to begin with!!

always the way mate, shows how important insurance is, it was an easy mistake to make and your client wil get over it once the tops are changed.your reputation wont be damaged as you dealt with the matter sraight away, nothing more you can do now
