Screw hardiebacker down???

We are putting a short term floor down in our kitchen. (don't ask - kitchen needs to move to other side of house but we just had a baby so need a floor now). I don't want a nightmare ripping up the tile in 3-5 yeas so was thinking of not screwing down the hardie backer. Any thoughts are appreciated!

Eeerrrrr no, you will have problems, 3-5 years is'nt a bad length of time..

Problem is, it won't last 3-5 months if you don't stick and screw the hardie's. Welcome along to the forum.

I'm sure Dural do a decoupler that doesn't need to be stuck down for temporary installations.

Have a look at Mapei Mapetex via link below

You could still screw down the Hardibackers to get the stiffness and stability but stick the Mapetex with the rolls of adhesive so that it can be taken up easily when you are ready.

or you could throw some vinyl on the floor for the time being
