SDS drill again

Going to get an SDS and tile removing bit tomorrow. I have read the other posts in another thread about the cheap ones at Screwfix and may go that route. I wont be using it everyday so cant see the point in spending too much.
Any more info you lot would like to share?

Do you mean the Armeg bit for £29.99?

I bought one recently for lifting a couple of bathroom floors and it worked very well. It really got under the tiles to lift them. I haven't tried it yet on walls and I not sure how much damage it might cause - I guess it largely depends on how well the tiles are fixed.

My drill is a 4kg brute so that won't help either Which drill are you thinking of?

Open to advice about the drill and yes its the Armeg bit i will be getting.

i recently bought and used the armeg bit from an online website,,excellent for lifting floors and ended up just gettin a mid range black and decker sds drill for 50 quid,,itl do the job.

I'm afraid I can't comment on cheap drills.

The drill I use is a 4kg Makita one - not at all cheap but I use it for everything from addy mixing to core drilling and everything in between!

I got the cheapo from Screwfix nearly 3 years ago. Admittedley it's not used a lot but I use it for drilling masonary, mixing and very occasionally getting tiles off. very effective but heavy. I would buy another if it gives up at that price. Another plus point is it is not money tied up in something you don't use every day!
