sealer for honed slate

hello, i have a honed slate job comig up,1st time ive actually worked with honed slate to be honest,is there specific sealers for honed slate and honed stones?

Makes no difference Jamie.. just decide what finish the customer wants.. matt/satin or gloss..

Useful thread this for me.... because, thinking of including some bits of old slate in a mosaic project, to have a tidy grout finish later
- do I need to seal the slate first?
- considering I can use either side, would the sealer affect the 'stickability' of the slate? don't want them dropping off...
- and what sealer is best, haven't decided yet about glossy or matt ...
- if I use matt first and then decide later a gloss would look good, can I use the glossy sealer over the matt one?
