I have sandstone colour Wickes Porcelain multi-sized floor tiles just laid on bal spf adhesive. It's a 2nd bathroom, little traffic. I don't think it's essential to seal them but am slightly concerned that the grout will be caught up in the texture of the tile face and be hard to remove, if I dont as the surface is quite rough. Is there any downside to sealing eg would the grout still stick where it should stick?
Grout is bal sandstone wide joint, grout lines 3mm.

you didn't say if the grout was flexi(since you laid the floor in spf i'll assume it is),wouldn't bother sealing porcelainunless it was polished!
the grout should come off easy enough with a good sponge after grouting!
maybe get a grout sealer though since it's a light colour and will get discoloured with traffic!

You might want to consider a temporary seal before grouting. It will aid the clean off!

Ok, thanks, slight difference of opinion, how do you mean temporary though? If it's applied, surely no downside to leaving it on, or am I missing something?

The temporary sealant is just that, it will come off. If you use a permanent penetrating sealer, you need to ensure you do it properly, and in any case if it is full body porcelain, it might not even penetrate enough to give you a seal so you are wasting your time and money. The temp stuff will help you clean out the grout residue from the rough parts of the tile easier.

do small areas at a time though. keep cleaning as ya go, textured porcs can be nightmare at times.............

Cheers guys, I tried without and it was fine, not dry yet but should be ok, it's not a big area so not hard to clean up quickly afterwards. Will post pics..
