self leveling

Hi im not a tiler,i have about 35sq metres of slate type tiles with a shiny finish in kitchen we have hated since day one,is it possible to put self leveling or something similar on top so we can have amtico fitted on top many thanks for any advice

Wouldnt know the answer but if you could lay on top of them, all youve to do is plain your doors if they swing inwards but you might have a slight drop into another room.

yes, weber floor flex is suitable for going over ceramic tiles....providing there well fixed..

If they are solid, with NO hollow sounding spots? Then make a slurry mix of SBR/cement. Brush all over, let dry, then tile. Use flexible adhesive.

Still slurry coat, then self level.

Then posh vinyl it.

If you are having Amtico or Karndean then leave the preparation up to the guys laying the new flooring, as I'm sure it is part of the product guarantee, no need for you to get your hands dirty!

Ye, leave to the guys doing the amtico, not sure how suitable webber floor flex is for a smooth amtico finish.

just a quick one on your question I had a tiled floor in my house wife hated it, we had amtico laid down top of them ,the guys who fitted new flooring used a self levelling compound to give a smooth finish ,was told name of levelling but cant remember name.
