Hi,
I have measured from the kickerboard to opposite wall(in two places) it is out by approx 2cm. Should I make a parallel line from the wall? Or will this cause the tiles to look off near to the kickerboard.
Have also tried from wall to wall, at it is slightly out as well. The kickerboard will be lifted and cut and refitted over the tiles.

Hope this makes sense

Not many rooms are perefctly square.

its out 20mm over what distance?

One method is to split the diffrence, I try to be square from the door in a rooom and at the kickboard & that usally sorts things out.

The more time you spend on set out the better, go through all your options, trying to get big cuts everywhere, then the rake isnt as noticeable.

Someone would need a very very keen eye to see any deviation on a tile that size over such a short distance. I would work square from the units and use that as your starting point for setting out, but nut not necessarily with a full tile. It depends what the cut will be on the adjacent wall, try to keep the cut even at both sides if possible, dependant on any other obstacles in the room. Good luck
