as most of you know im working on a big commercial ob on a carehome in warrington anyway i wanted 20 m2 a metre the main foremen came on site today and said he liked my work and has offered me alot more work if i drop my price to £18 m2

i do trust this builder and i believe that he probably will give more work do you think i should stick to my guns at 20 m2 or drop to 18m2

if i dropped to 18m2 the rooms im tiling are 50 m2 on walls i can do one room in 3 days i should nearly be taking home £1000 a week so i cant complain really

In my opinion it would just depend on how much work you would have otherwise,i suppose £1000 a week is not to be sniffed at is it? If you are happy with that and the work is pretty regular then i would say you have no complaints, but if they are happy with the standard of worki can't see why they can't pay you what you asked, but like i said if you are happy to accept that for regular work then go for it...

I have heard it all before..promises, do this job for this much and the next job i will give you more, yeah yeah £20sqm that's my price. Don't put all your eggs in one basket mate as when the jobs finished and you have done it real cheap for him and there's no more work...Keep your options open.

dont bite your nose of to spite your face m8,take the £18 option and say to him that you want continuity with a review of the m2 rate rising....take the money at that price thats my opinion....ask yourself what else have i got on and for how long then the £18 seems reasonable.....in a nutshell if you dont do it someone else will.

when you see him in he morning say to him " ref the m rate, ill meet you in the middle" stick your hand out to shake and dont say another word. worst case scenario he'll say get stuffed, and you accept the £18 or you've just got another £50 per room and fought your corner. resist the urge to say anything when holding out your hand, see who blinks first. he's happy with your work remember, thats got to be worth a pound.

you know what builders are like they will try and get you do to the work as cheap as they can he did say if there was any domestic work he would pay me £20 but because this is site work he said 18 m2

£1000 a week for a 20 yr old lad is a bloody good wage
£1000 a week for any age is a bloody good wage! 52 weeks - 52k:hurray:
