Can you also sort the permission for each poster ti be able to edit their own threads/posts at any time... this saves having to ask a mod to edit at a later stage if something needed doing etc and otherwise the edit function times out after so long preventing the OP from editing his own posts in the new forum.

Yeah, that'll take a bit of time I'll have to get some custom code for that.

For now, could do with people trying to get the posts right the first time round. We will monitor it though to keep it tidy if any mistakes happen. And of course to add new posts, just reply to your own threads.

I am only asking as then each member has full control over their own thread , that they will be adding to over the coming yrs etc and at some point they might want to edit older posts , you just never know but it would be good to have full control over it..

I thought user permissions can be set for each member if you set up them to a user group for the said forum... this then will allow them to only edit their own posts in said forum but not in others , if ya get my drift..

Time limit for editing a thread is set globally. You can only then turn off the editing of a thread per forum. So I'd have to turn it on globally (which it is) and then set no time for just the said forum category, which isn't possible right now without custom code. What I'd end up doing if I turned it on with no time limit globally is allowing editing of threads going back to 2006 which isn't wise.

What did we decide on this board. Was it one thread per member? That we keep adding to ever time. Or one thread per job like I've done in there.
Thought more people might have used the board by now

One thread per job.
And me too.

I've changed the whole forum settings to allow the editing of a thread for 10 days.

Note also that the "show us your work thread" would have only been editable for a day before this anyway, so it had the same settings as that, and we never got many requests to edit posts in that thread so I'd assume the same would apply to this new forum category.

But 10 days to edit the posts should be sufficient I'd guess. Most jobs don't last much longer than that?
