Shower room floor - how to spread the tiles?

Are you asking which trowel to use? Or how to lay out the tiles?

How is the ply fixed down, cant see from the pic.

Anyway Hi to everybody !


I'm not worried about floor, because is laid by pro carpenter.
only i'm not sure about how to spread the tiles in the room. I mean from right to left I've got easy, becouse I'll start with whole one tile on the right, and the tile on the left will be cut off around 30/40 mm.
The problem is... Should I start with whole tile on the front and cut tile in the far end of room to size around 150 mm?
Or should I find the center of the room and lay tiles from there ?

I like to centre things personally Furtek. how square is the room? woul have left the bottom course of wall tiles of before Tiling floor but thats me.

Only asked about the floor as Im guessing its 9mm ply and I cant see what its fixed with from the pic or I cant see an expansion gap around the perimiter.

I would center the room out myself. I have never come across a floor that has been properly fixed by a pro carpenter :lol:

If you lay from the centre you will have mirrored cuts both sides of the room and probably 2 cuts from one tile...I don't start from a full tile unless the walls are dead square..some chance.

i'd say it would work using a full tile against the shower tray as that should be bang on straight, as for front to back, that's personal choice, i'd probably centre it as the back wall and the doorway will probably not be square to the tray

I usally come a full tile from the threshold and centre across the way sorry for not stating in my previous post.
Just doesnt look right to me if its not a full tile or there abouts from the threshold.

9mm ply fixed with 3 inch screws, gap around the perimeter is around 5-10mm, you can see it next to shower tray, the rest is under skirtings.
