you could always try graffite lock smiths use it to lubricate lock's instead of light oil ,so as not to attract dust /dirt and clogging the mechanism .........
 
Believe it or not i find using any type of spray clogs the bar up,i use a damp sponge and have never had it sticking and thats on the 3 sigmas i have.
 
I use WD40 as it's usually handy but only need to spray a cutter if it's not been used in a few weeks. By right they should just be kept clean and wiped down daily to stop them sticking in the first place though.
 
Even gun oil will build up gunk etc.To assure the best protection of the metal on the tile cutter you can clean the parts first with oil.Basically clean them with oil,then wipe them dry with clean cloths till they are bone dry.Then re-lubricate the parts that need it.Personally I think WD40 will do the same thing as any other oil!
