If you have a bit of a gap at the top of the wall use caulking then you can paint it and loose it into the ceiling.

Agreed, I never use silicon to the ceiling, always put caulk so it can be painted 😉

Deffo caulk / decorators filler at ceiling joint, except in a tiny shower room I did which I white siliconed to match ceiling colour.
