Silicon

That's what I use. A small piece of plastic to remove excess/even out the Silicon after I've sprayed it with a spray-thingemagig loaded with detergent and water. I couldn't be arsed to take a pic of the Silicon gun. The result is always perfect, and an average bathroom takes about 5 minutes to do. All those "Silifix" tools and what ever are over rated; the result you get from those isn't better than what you get with this little £0.10 piece of plastic.

Hi Rosco, I've worked on sites and the one's I've been on they get firm's in to do Silicon

It's definitely a bit of a black art - caulking.

Come to think of it there is a van knocking around here with "Caulking Specialists" written on it.

I've been on sites where Silicon teams go around doing all the siliconing, amazing to watch them.

Thanks Grumpy, just found a set for £22.99, does that sound about right? Looks like a few smoothing tools, different angles etc.

If they work it will be a god send.

Cheers
Seem to recall only paying a tenner for mine!

Grumpy

If your having problems getting a good finish then just practise practise practise practise practise practise practise practise practise.

Dont forget Fekin that you may need to practise to be good at silconing!! - Lol.
Lots of fairy liquid helps and as previously posted, a "touch like a virgin"
