I normally would use a rapid set when tiling a floor but with how hot it's been lately I opted to use keraflex maxi which has 8 hour pot life and says is set to light foot traffic after 24 hours.. ... I found after I had spread the floor and bedded the tiles I couldn't move them after about 10 minutes and I was standing on them after about an hour and they didn't move...has anyone else found this with slower set adhesive? Because I'm considering using slow sets all the time now as I prefer the long bucket life and it seems to set fast after spreading anyway.

I wouldn't be standing on them
Although it will appear to go off quick it takes a full 24 hours to cure properly. .
Bet if you take a tile up after 3 hour the adhesive would scrape off a piece of cake.
By standing on them to soon you run the risk of brakeing the bond between the tile and the adhesive. .

Keraflex Maxi as an eight hour pot life?!
What are people doing with it for the 7.5 hours they're not tiling with it?! lol!

Christ, genuinely didn't know it existed that long. We've come a long way since I was flogging it.

It sounds like they were ceramic. As Andy says, allow alot longer for them to set fully

Gave up on rapid set ages ago..too much rushing about, slowset you can work steady away and put your cuts in as you go..

I rarely use rapid set except on small floors where a slow set addy just wouldnt be practical.

Only try to use rapid with small floors where grouting the same day is necessary

All of the above!! ⬆️⬆️⬆️

shame there's not a rapidset adhesive with a long pot life...that would solve my problems

There is!
Two in fact that I know of.
One is Bal Rapid-Flex Fibre Plus
http://files.building-adhesives.com...cal Data Sheets/BAL_Rapid-Flex_Fibre_Plus.pdf

And I also believe there is one from Tilemaster, but only by the pallet!

So dreams really DO come true Trevor!:D

Fair enough it lasts 60 mins which is double that of most rapids, but it takes me about 3 hours to get through a 20kg bag by the time i've messed about with cuts and stopped for a cup of tea...
