Slurry Coat

Laying ufh, ditra then ceramic over bitumen, Having read several posts that best option if unable to remove fully was to lay a slurry coat, I mixed rapidset flexible then added 50% by volume SBR. Laid it yesterday evening. How long should it take to set and be safe to lay insulation boards on?

Aflemi...... what mix of SBR etc did you use for the slurry coat?

Hi, mixed normal rapidset flexi adhesive then added another 50% SBR by volume. Seems a lot and not cheap for all that SBR but flowed well and easy to apply. Sure more experienced members will advise also...

You could also slurry with course sand, sbr will hold it's own when dry and the sand will have good grip for any adhesive

Mix more by eye rather proportions, you want to be able brush it on without any build up. Trial and error and when it's dry wear knee pads it will tear your knees to pieces
