I have tried literally oh 3 different types of kneepads in 45 years and have come to the conclusion that I am better off just punishing my own knees.
I must be lucky because they are still as good as new.

I will, they might need to bed in, my knee is already hurting so that might not help!

They soften up a bit when they've been through the wash a few times. They definitely get more comfortable depends how much your on your knees really

Comfy knees tomorrow as Snickers Floorlayer trousers and the D30 knee pads came today! Feel like I am away to bat an over at the Oval, couple of washes should soften!

I recently converted to Snickers Floor Layers trousers after years of Dickies. Main reason for change? Dickies quality has nosedived - after years of buying, the last 3 pairs all split in the crotch within 3 months of use.

The jury is out on the Snickers. Had mine for 6 weeks now, and the true test will be on longevity. However on a practical note, they have more features than I know what to do with. Who uses all those "tool holding" features? And what the hell is the "twisted leg technology"? They need to come with a manual like with a new car. I love the phone pocket though - double Velcro-ed.

£70 is a lot of dosh to shell out for work trousers that got plastered with tile adhesive. Although the knees get progressively tougher to wear through as the rapid set builds up over the cordura. But its so cool to pull the knee draw string - pinched trouser legs - now that's the height of tiling fashion.

Dickies Eisenhower for me religiously, that last me a year I recon, two pairs on rotation, about £30 a pair, very hard wearying and comfy

Thats the ones I always bought - but with the cordura toughened knees. The Dickies warehouse is a mile up the road from me. But split crotches is a no-no.

This is my 4th pair, had the beans in them, red backs the lot but the D30's are best by a mile. Went back to knee pads for a while just before these new ones and whilst at physiotherapist for a bad shoulder mentioned to her about having really bad leg cramps thru the night for weeks. She asked if I wore knee pads and told me to show her the back of my knees, told me never to wear knee pads again as cramps were caused by circulation starvation due to straps. As soon as I stopped wearing cramps are gone!
