You know what? This year husband and I chose to opt out, with grown up children and most family in other countries or not able to travel we said no to hassle, wrote not a single card (people will live with the disappointment, I'm sure), just stayed in touch with friends and family via calls, emails, all internet options really, took it all nicely relaxed and easy, didn't go over the top with anything and only expected time off work. What we got instead was one of the best Christmasses ever, might do that again. Strongly recommended. And yes, I'm am so ready for this year!
