You know what? This year husband and I chose to opt out, with grown up children and most family in other countries or not able to travel we said no to hassle, wrote not a single card (people will live with the disappointment, I'm sure), just stayed in touch with friends and family via calls, emails, all internet options really, took it all nicely relaxed and easy, didn't go over the top with anything and only expected time off work. What we got instead was one of the best Christmasses ever, might do that again. Strongly recommended. :thumbsup: And yes, I'm am so ready for this year!

its well worth it

xmas becomes a relaxing holiday

If it wasn't for my young daughter and granddaughter I would do the same. Opt out of the madness, Damn Victorians invented it all anyway. I had my sisters on the phone asking why I did not send them cards? Because they are a waste of money, time and effort, why do I want to contribute to hallmark cards profits?

:ban::ban:

Yes, when you have young family it is all very different... but it is amazing to realize afresh that magic is really not created by the commercial trimmings...

I'll be glad when my hangover goes away :thumbsdown:

Feel rough as a badgers bum at the mo.
3.15pm and just got dressed.
I know in Scotland that Hogmonay goes on till about March :lol:.......but not for me:smilewinkgrin:

I hate Christmas and New Year cos it stops me getting excited about my birthday :lol:

Just me and Maggie, went for dinner to her brothers house and wanted to leave at 6, ended being there until about 8.30, was getting bored.

Back to normal soon
