Hi

I live in Hertfordshire and i would like to get into the tiling industry and i'm not sure if i should do a short 4 to 6 week course and then my nvq. I'm planning to do site work at some point as i have done lots of site work in different trades over the years. I have done a few tiling jobs for friends.
At the moment i'm not employed and in my mid 30s.
What is the process?
do you think nvq is the way to go? also can this be done in 6 months time frame
Any course centres recommended?
Does anyone know of any funding options?

A few questions i know - if you dont mind helping me out

thanks

Rus

Morning Rus,

NVQ Level 2 is definitely the way to go, especially if you are planning on undertaking site based work as this will be a must by the end of this year.

Your time frame of 6 months is very realistic and you can definitely achieve this.

On our 6 week course we deliver all of the training you will need in depth and we also build your NVQ portfolio, by the end of the course all that will be remaining to complete are the on site assessments by our NVQ Assessor.

By on site, we mean work that is not simulation based i.e not within the training centre.

Once all of this is complete you will then achieve your NVQ Level 2.

I hope this helps and if you require any further advice, please do not hesitate to contact us at the centre on 01903 739 407.

All the best
