is it just me or are the bills getting bigger/more frequant ,and work /rates getting smaller, if theres less work and more of us it will get harder and cheaper!OMG worrying times!!!!!:yikes:

everything goes up with inflation apart from self-employed/construction trades prices,it's been happening for years,the inland revenue demand 2% increase or it's strike time like a lot of other office and blue collar jobs yet the people who put in the physical effort for work get nothing as usual
i agree,and i am due a Gas bill at the end of the month and road tax..argghhh.Credit card will need to get this im afraid.Try and remain positive Dave,things will pick up.
I did a job for a new builder at the end of last year and finished it on time and with a great deal of satisfaction and thanks from the customer that the builder was working for
Anyway a week after I was finished the QS rang me to thank me for the job I had left and advised me to increase my rates based on the finished job I had left :yikes:
In over twenty years in this industry I have NEVER had a builder telling me to charge extra:yikes::8:
heating oil has went up 50 quid in a week ! per 900 litres !! £399 now over here.
I know a guy(self employed painter) who has just went on the dole !!! no work fron mid december.
